What is mentoring?
Mentoring is where one devotee tries to help another devotee become closer to Krishna. A mentor is a friend - someone you can ask advice from, just talk and offload to or hang-out with.
Why is it needed?
All of us need close devotional relationships and positive role models - and we all need to be cared for and inspired in our spiritual journey.
What is the role of a mentor?
The mentor if first and foremost and friend. Their role may be to assist and guide, but also to be a role model and confident. Mentors often use their own experiences in spiritual life to help their mentees.
What is the role of a mentee?
Before taking a mentor, potential mentees can think about the following:
Am I ready to go a bit deeper in my spiritual life?
Do I want someone to advise and guide me?
How much effort am I willing to put into this?
The onus is upon the mentee to communicate regularly with the mentor and this reccomended to be fortnightly.
